Abraham Lincoln's Birthday.

 Abraham Lincoln: 

February 12 ,1809 - April 15 , 1865

`Dear President Lincoln , 

Thank you for your honorable and distinguished leadership. As a self educated man it is quite an accomplishment. The Emancipation Proclamation and Gettysburg Address speeches are Masterpieces .

I am in awe of you , but I think that you can tell.

When you worked in Vandalia , Illinois , I think you must have enjoyed it and learned from it  . In 1953 I was born in this city . What an honor it is to have walked where you did . 

I have gone back many many times. I even brought my kids , David and Mike , and they loved it too. We walked through the Capitol Bulding rooms where many bills were considered and signed by you. I love the aroma of the old wood in the rooms and halls . It is stepping back into an old era in time. I saw the quill which you used to sign the bills and I imagined you sitting there . 

You paved the way to freedom for the slaves and slavery is abolished . Because of this wonderful bill all men are now truly created equally in the eyes of our ever changing world . 

But I think the most important thing is that you saw and taught the need for us all to love one another . I really do. 

You are truly a man of the people and shall long endure in our hearts and memory forever and ever.
